Higher and Higher

I remember seeing close to a decade ago, while coming over the hills and through the heat from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the then two tallest buildings in the world. I was astonished by the sight of the Twin Petronas Towers. They were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004. When I saw them they were almost brand new and I wondered just how high skyscrapers would go. The intervening years have proved that they can still go higher. This week the Burj Dubai will reach the newest height and its not even finished. When it is it will be over a half mile high. Thanks to OutNext for this amazing picture.
