I can't remember the first time I was introduced to Dale Chihuly's work but I do recall that I loved it immediately. It's funny because glass as never been a medium that captured my fancy, unless it was a 1000 year old vase from Greece.However, over the years I've seen his installations all over the world, from Vegas to Perth, Australia and I always smile in recognition of his skills. I loved his floating pieces in Venice. So I was glad to see this story of his return to RISD and his installation at the new Chace Center at the Rhode Island School of Design. Full story here.
